Lean Enterprise Model (LEM)
The Lean Enterprise Model (LEM) is a systematic framework that encompasses lean enterprise principles, metrics, overarching practices and enabling practices to help organizations identify and assess the leanness of their own organization and processes. It provides an equal balance of people-oriented and process-oriented practices that helps chart a path to becoming a lean enterprise.

The LEM is also a web-based systematic framework for organizing and disseminating early research and external data source results of the Lean Advancement Initiative. It is populated by early MIT research and external data, derived from surveys, case studies and other research activities. This web-based LEM captured examples of lean processes mapped to individual LEM practices at multiple levels. The LEM is available to all LAI consortium members.
