LAI Researchers Receive 2011 INCOSE Working Group Award for Collaboration

LAI researchers Drs. Josef Oehmen and Bob Kenley have received the 2011 INCOSE Working Group Award for Collaboration with the Lean Systems Engineering Working Group. The award recognizes the group's collaborative work with PMI, LAI, and INCOSE Corporate Advisory Board (CAB) companies to bridge the gap between program management and systems engineering.
The award was presented during the Opening Plenary at the 2012 INCOSE International Workshop on Saturday, January 21, in Jacksonville, Florida.
Prof. Deborah Nightingale To Serve on National Academies Committee

Prof. Deborah Nightingale, director of the MIT Center for Technology, Policy, and Industrial Development, has been invited to join a National Academies committee working to evaluate the national Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Program. MEP works to accelerate the ongoing transformation of American manufacturing and drive economic growth and job creation. Prof. Nightingale will serve on a committee that is examining successful strategic, operating, and funding models in the US, Germany, Taiwan, and Canada and will develop recommendations to strengthen MEP.
LAI Postdoctoral Researcher Wiljeana Glover Wins $15,000 Award

Dr. Wiljeana J. Glover is the recipient of a $15,000 Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) Scholar Award for 2011-2012.
A postdoctoral researcher at LAI, Dr. Glover is a member of the LAI team working with the Military Health System (MHS) to assess and make strategic and operational improvement recommendations for the MHS psychological health care system for service members and their families. Her research interests include healthcare system performance improvement, integration of organizations within enterprises, sustainability of change and transformation efforts, and performance measurement.
PEO, a 142-year-old organization with more than 250,000 members in the U.S. and Canada, supoorts women's education through scholarships, grants, awards, loans, and the stewardship of Cottey College, a women’s accredited liberal arts college in Nevada, Missouri.
