Geoff Bentley is a Textron Systems team leader and has more than 40 years of professional experience in defense, aerospace, and civil systems involving project management, technical support, marketing, business analysis, and management.
Geoff became involved with LAI in 1997 and has served as a program manager for LAI's LEM (Lean Enterprise Model) and AEP (Advanced Enterprise Project) benchmarking contracts, a facilitator for LESAT (Lean Enterprise Self Assessment Tool), and a subject matter expert for the Lean Now Air Force project.
Geoff is a graduate of MIT and Wesleyan University with graduate degrees in aeronautical engineering and business administration and spent one year studying aerodynamics at von Karman Institute in Belgium.
He has authored more than 25 professional papers and articles on value stream mapping for aerospace systems, defense forecasting and technology conversion, renewable energy sources, automotive safety and emissions testing, management decision making, and guidance problems for maneuvering reentry vehicles.
Geoff is a recipient of the 1995 AIAA Aerospace Contribution to Society Award and Past Chair of the Electronic Industries Association (EIA) Government Division’s Requirements Council. He is also an Associate Fellow in the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). He was also a Fellow at MIT’s Center for Advanced Engineering Study and a Congressional Fellow to Congressman Paul Tsongas and the New England Congressional Caucus.
