LAI Structure

Executive Board | Faculty, Researchers, and Staff | Research Assistants | LAI Alumni | EdNet Staff

The LAI consortium is made up of organizational members from the government, industry, and academia. Each of these sectors is represented by one executive board co-chair.

Every LAI member organization appoints an individual to serve on LAI's executive board, which meets several times a year.

LAI research is conducted at MIT and at a variety of member sites. The LAI team is led by two co-directors and an executive director. LAI affiliated faculty from MIT’s Sloan School of Management and School of Engineering provide key expertise in specific areas. The LAI research team leads research projects supported by graduate student research assistants.

LAI's Educational Network (EdNet), a consortium of more than 40 colleges and universities in several countries, translates LAI research products and tools into international lean curricula. EdNet has a director and two associate directors.

LAI maintains associations with other MIT programs and centers and external organizations around the world that significantly leverage LAI resources. LAI shares research findings, products, and tools with the consortium through knowledge exchange events, workshops, team and communities of practice meetings, and an annual conference.
