DoD Awards $8M to MIT Lean Advancement Initiative (LAI) for Post-Traumatic Stress Innovations Project
Cambridge, MA – The MIT Lean Advancement Initiative (LAI), in collaboration with MIT Collaborative Initiatives (CI), is partnering with the U.S. Military Health System (MHS) to develop innovative recommendations for transforming the military psychological health care system related to post-traumatic stress in support of service members and their families.
LAI Releases LESAT 2.0
The LAI Self-Assessment Tool (LESAT) 2.0 is now available. "LAI's updated LESAT tool reflects the power of the Lean Advancement Initiative (LAI) and its ability to convene industry, government, and academia around important issues," explains LAI Co-Director Prof. Deborah Nightingale. "This is an important and unique tool that provides organizations with valuable insights into the process of effective enterprise transformation." LESAT is a capability maturity matrix with 54 practices designed to assess the leanness of an enterprise on a five-level scale and enable leaders to make more consistent and informed decisions.
LAI Researchers Win DAUAA 2012 Research Competition
Former LAI student Major Sean Dorey, LAI researcher Dr. Josef Oehmen, and former LAI researcher Dr. Ricardo Valerdi (now Associate Professor at the University of Arizona) won first place in the 2012 Defense Acquisition University Alumni Association (DAUAA) research ompetition, "Doing More Without More." They will receive the award at the DAUAA conference on April 10 at Fort Belvoir.
