Spotlight

New International Lean Product Development (PD) Research Findings

Former LAI visiting scholar Joern Hoppmann (Technical University of Braunschweig) proposes a novel definition of a lean product development (PD) system; his work combines existing PD approaches into a single framework. Hoppmann surveyed 113 PD departments in international companies based in Germany, the U.S., China, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, and Sweden with revenues of less than $100 million to more than $100 billion. The companies represent the automotive, electronics, industrial equipment, aerospace manufacturing, medical device, naval shipbuilding, and defense sectors.
