- Details
- Created on 28 January 2011
Dr. Hugh McManus, LAI Executive Director Dick Lewis, and LAI researcher Dr. Ricardo Valerdi presented LAI's Lean Enterprise Value (LEV) Simulation to an audience of 16 auto industry professionals in Vigo, Spain. The audience included key industrial engineering and lean/CPI professionals from CEAGA member companies. The short course team included EdNet associate director and LEV simulation co-creator Hugh McManus, LAI Executive Director Dick Lewis, and LAI Research Associate Ricardo Valerdi. Dr. McManus arranged the course logistics and acted as simulation master and session leader. Mr. Lewis presented most of the lecture content, and Dr. Valerdi served as a trainee facilitator and translator.
CEAGA hosts included Alberto Cominges, CEAGA General Manager, and Pedro Piñero, CEAGA Corporate University Director, who participated in much of the event. Abel Tintos, CEAGA Corporate University, led the CEAGA facilitator team along with Vanessa Real, CEAGA Lean Program, and Rosa Monteagudo, CEAGA Lean Program Member. The CEAGA facilitators received guided train-the-trainer experience during the event and served as assistant facilitators throughout the event. CEAGA now has the materials and much of the knowledge necessary to independently handle the labor-intensive simulation aspects of the short course.
The event was designed to provide a high-level learning experience in enterprise lean concepts for advanced practitioners in the CEAGA group and specifically trained the CEAGA facilitators in the use of the LEV materials, and provided CEAGA practitioners with ideas and training they could take back to their companies. Both the consensus of the event team and the feedback collected (formally and informally) from the participants indicates success in all of these objectives.
